Translator Training through
MASS and TRIP
The Master of Arts in Social Science, in conjunction with the Certificate in Translation through the Translation, Research and Instruction Program (TRIP) permits students to perfect their translation skills while studying the subjects usually required for translation careers in the social sciences, education, human services, management, technology and areas in the humanities.
The translation certificate, formally integrated with the MASS program in 1980, was developed by TRIP for students planning to translate professionally or wishing to develop translation as an ancillary skill. TRIP is a department of the Center for Research in Translation, which also administers the Translation Referral Service, providing opportunities for professional assignments.
