Welcome
Greetings! It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Department of Public Administration a
t Binghamton University. As part of the College of Community and Public Affairs, the Department of Public Administration is committed to working in partnership with the community, particularly local governments and nonprofit organizations. Individuals affiliated with the Department of Public Administration continue to make important contributions to the communities in which they live and work, and to the broader public service profession.
The centerpiece of our academic programs is our NASPAA-accredited Master of Public Administration (MPA) Program. The following pages provide information about the MPA degree as well as opportunities to combine the MPA with graduate degrees in Social Work (MSW) or Nursing (MS). You can also learn about our “fast-track” programs that pair undergraduate (BA) degrees in Political Science, Theater, Asian and Asian American Studies, Spanish, French or Italian with the MPA. We also offer a graduate certificate in Nonprofit Administration for those not interested in the full MPA degree. The website will also provide you with information about study abroad opportunities, the activities of our Center for Applied Community Research and Development, and recent accomplishments of faculty, staff, students and alumni.
I invite you to explore our website to learn more about the opportunities that we have to offer. If any of our programs interest you I encourage you to visit us in person. We would welcome the opportunity to give you a tour of our state-of-the-art facility in the heart of downtown Binghamton near the confluence of the Susquehanna and Chenango Rivers.
With Warm Regards,
Nadia Rubaii-Barrett
Interim Chair and Associate Professor
Department of Public Administration
