Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Center for Applied Community Research and Development?
The Center for Applied Community Research and Development (CACRD) a research center founded, staffed and hosted by Binghamton University connects the University and individuals and organizations seeking community-based research partnerships. The CACRD goal is to create symbiotic relationships where community organizations benefit from the University’s resources while providing fertile ground for publishable research. The knowledge embodied in each group benefits the other for the greater good of all.
Why would I work with the CACRD?
Perhaps your organization is looking to do a program evaluation, collect some information on current projects to see how effective they are or you have a large collection of data but no way to make use of it. The CACRD can examine your situation and see if any Binghamton University faculty are interested in your organization and your research idea. Identified faculty would then work with you and your organization, while at the same time using the opportunity to collect research and for eventual publication.
How do I propose a research idea?
If you have an idea that may benefit from a partnership with Binghamton University, submit your information at http://ccpa.binghamton.edu/community/cacrdresearchpost.html. Your request will be evaluated and you will be contacted by someone from the CACRD within 72 hours.
How are research projects funded?
